MAMBO (Hello Friends),
It has been a while since we have updated you. To be honest, we are so used to God doing so much, we barely have time to sit down and share it with you. Wow! How things have been turned upside down since then! How in the world do we share the love of Jesus into the heart of the orphaned, and feed hungry children from a distance?
We have had a lot of time lately to hear God’s voice in prayer. God has been working on us. He is pruning us in this season to bring new growth, healing, and transformation in areas we didn’t know existed–individually and as a family.
John 15:2-4 – “I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit, he prunes, that it may bear more fruit. Already you are clean because of the word that I have spoken to you. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me.
Throughout scripture and history we have been given inspiring examples of people who overcame. In the very darkest of times, when there seems no way…God made a way. He is surely preparing us for something miraculous. So while we wait, we look for divine appointments to be the light in the darkness.
Sponsorships
Our students school has been cancelled for the year. In order to keep their minds busy, we have purchased tablets, internet, and zoom classes. This has been a big challenge with training and internet issues. I guess the whole world is learning something new. (Bam! Just like that, we are all homeschooling!)

Food Distribution 2020
The 500 club is still cancelled along with the Feeding Program. We have been helping with delivering of food once a month in designated village areas. We are not able to reach so many of them, but are thankful to reach some. This is a time when so many are struggling to just survive. We keep food in our car at all times, and look for opportunities when its safe to hand out.

Lorraine
Here is Lorraine in 2020.
Here she was in 2013.
Many of you know Lorraine, a young girl God brought us to almost 6 years ago. She was on death’s door and in desperate need of help after being hit by a bus and left in a government hospital for 9 months, unable to move. God had other plans for her. She was not supposed to ever walk, but today she is dancing! She has wonderful sponsors from America that send her to one of the best schools in Mombasa. Because of her injuries and surgeries so many years ago, she has been left with dreadful scarring that has slowly become more and more painful and debilitating (the body is growing but the scars are not stretching). We are sending her this month to get assessed at a mission hospital. It is the perfect time for her to go because school is cancelled until next year. We are praying for full healing. We are not sure the cost for now, but we are trusting God will provide. We look forward to sharing updates on this soon.
Our Plans for the Future
We suppose everyone is living in the unknown during this time. Our families motto is, ”We are holding onto our plans loosely and holding onto Gods promises tightly.” Our extended visa is expired. We hope to find a ticket to return to the USA possibly in September for a visit. Haven’s birthday is in September, and her biggest wish is to see her family and have a slime party.
Thank You
Thank you for taking time to read through our newsletter. If you have read through to the end of this letter, you care about us and what God is doing here. Thank you for your support! We understand, now more than ever, the importance of seeing each other. We hope to see you all during our next return, whenever that may be. We would love to sit down with you face-to-face and have a cup of coffee! And, we would love to hear about what God is showing you during this time as well!
MUNGU AKUBARIKI (GOD BLESS YOU!),
Wayne, Tammy, and Haven Andrus
