eva2IN MEMORY OF EVA

Cornered in a dark alley at night and gang raped. She reported to the police after begin taken to the hospital. The gang heard that she had reported the case they came looking for her to teach her a lesson.  When they found her some other street boys defended her. War broke out between the 2 gangs, and tragically one of her rapists was murdered.

The incident became immediately viral on the streets, now with a bounty on her head and on one of the boys who defended her. The police looked the other way because they want no part in these gangs’ issues, but the gang would not rest until more blood would be split.

Traumatized by the events of the past 24hrs and now with nowhere to go, the 2 youth walked all night to find a place that would help them.

I remember it like it was yesterday, I was reading my Bible at 6am when these two terrified kids knocked on our door. It didn’t take me more than an hour to fall in love with precious Eva. How quickly she transformed from a scared, wounded girl to a bright, shining, beautiful daughter of God full of life and joy.

After months of healing, she knelt down in our prayer room and at the foot of the cross. She dreamed of her future, made us all laugh with her silliness, and had all the potential a person could ask for. She used to say when she finishes school one day, “I want to help people the way you do.” I knew she would.

She continued her healing process at our house; she lived in my room with me. We were just about to enroll her in school, but as we all do in our healing process, we have moments of vulnerability, mistakes, and we can fall down. Eva’s fall led her back to drugs, streets, and a teenage pregnancy. We offered her help but she left for another city. She would call and talk about how she would come back after giving birth, and I was sure she would. But tragically, she and the baby did not live through childbirth. She was 15.

When I don’t understand, I get to choose to love You. For You are good.

I am reminded that we have just this one chance at life , just a quick 70-80 years if the Lord wills. What will I do with this gift?

“What kind of deal is it to gain everything you want but lose yourself?

What could you ever trade your soul for? Matt 16.26 [the message]

Our house in mourning Eva’s death by making t-shirts in her name for the other street girls and use them as an evangelical outreach. Please pray for us in this, that some might be saved.

We are in need of funds for this outreach as well as our need to meet our monthly expenses. If you would like to send funds you can do so through our paypal account on our webpage: raphahousekenya.com.

Thank you for your continued prayers and support of the Rapha House. God is working amongst these youth and continues to lay a burden on our hearts for this city at this time of great need.

Please pray for us as we increase evangelism and train our disciples to make disciples in the month of August.

Our Hope is in Him,
